Rachael Andoscia.

Director of Events, ADS, Inc.
For more than 15 years, Rachael Andoscia built two lives at the same time: a career in the defense industry and a family life shaped by her husband’s 20-year career as a Navy SEAL. Being a military spouse meant deployments, unpredictable schedules, frequent changes, and long stretches of managing life at home with two children while continuing to grow professionally. With no family nearby to step in when a child was sick, work required travel, or military obligations changed plans at the last minute, Rachael quickly learned that she couldn’t do it alone.
The answer became community. In Virginia Beach, Rachael built the village her family didn’t have nearby. Friends became family, and neighbors, coworkers, other military spouses, and the local community became the support system that allowed her to be present for her children, support her husband’s service, and continue building a career she was proud of.
Working in the defense industry also created a unique connection between her professional and personal worlds. Rachael has spent her career leading trade shows and events that bring together military end users, industry partners, manufacturers, and leaders from across the defense community. She has created experiences focused on the needs of the warfighter and moderated conversations with notable military leaders, athletes, executives, and guest speakers.
Her experience taught her that “doing it all” doesn’t mean doing it alone. Success came from learning to ask for help, building a strong community, and being willing to show up for others in return. Rachael’s story is one shared by so many military spouses: supporting someone else’s mission while raising a family, building an identity of her own, and finding the determination, and the village, to build a mission of her own.
