Brigadier General (Retired) Andy Preston is the Director of Military Banking for ROGER Bank. Prior to assuming that role, Andy served in the United States Army for 32 years. An accomplished senior executive and respected operations management leader and combat commander, he is known for his deep expertise in Army Field Artillery, Operations Management, Staff Organization and Synchronization, and Strategic Planning. Throughout his service, Andy’s leadership was consistently sought after to solve complex, challenging problems which required his innovative, non-linear approach. He is particularly adept at transforming organizations from the inside out to optimize performance and meet strategic enterprise goals, especially when organizational vision and mission are involved. He applied excellent business acumen to the daily business of leading large organizations, directing operations, managing support functions and allocating resources. He creates cohesive and collaborative partnerships within and outside of an organization, integral to transformation successes. A driver of change, Andy draws on a superb record of success in Army operations and leadership roles, along with a commitment to leader development, to build resilient, high-performing teams whose actions are directed by a strong sense of values and ethical behavior.

Andy served in a number of high-profile positions throughout his career, achieving significant impacts as an Army leader. Standout roles included Chief of Staff, U.S. Army Pacific, directing the shift from service component command to a National Defense Strategy prioritized theater army staff, a massive undertaking requiring functional reform of the staff, capability shortfall assessment and solution development, all while overseeing the execution of a $4.3B annual budget. He excelled as an adaptive crisis response leader when he was the Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations, for the Army Pacific Command, directing the response not just for the Army, but coordinating as the DoD lead for all services, executing a COVID-19 pandemic response strategic plan. Andy was an outstanding leader not only in the field as a Battalion Commander in Iraq, but also as the handpicked Director for the Army Coordination Group, working directly for GEN Milley, Chief of Staff of the Army.
