Tom Downs

Tom Downs leads the Diversity Talent Acquisition and Talent Pipeline Programs efforts at Booz Allen Hamilton and joined the firm in 2020.  As a part of those efforts, Tom has significantly increased the diversity hiring efforts for Booz Allen and helps to ensure Booz Allen is continually recognized as both an industry and national leader for their diversity and military hiring initiatives.  A few examples include: “Forbes Best Employers for Veterans”, “#1 Military Spouse Friendly Employer”, “DOL Hire Vets Platinum Award”, and “G.I. Jobs Top 10 Military Friendly Employer.”

Prior to that, Tom was with Gartner where he also led their global Diversity Talent Acquisition efforts for nearly 2 years.  While at Gartner, Tom established and implemented a robust global diversity outreach, engagement and recruiting strategy for markets in EMEA, APAC and North America.  Preceding Gartner, Tom worked at Capital One for nearly 6 years where he also led their Diversity Talent Acquisition efforts for veterans, military spouses and People with Disabilities.  While there, Tom expanded their national recruiting events strategy resulting in Capital One also being recognized as a destination of choice for both military affiliated and diverse talent.

Tom retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years of service as an Engineer and Recruiter (high school, college, officer, and Special Forces recruiting).  Tom graduated from the University of Louisville with a BS in Occupational Training and Development (Magna Cum Laude) and outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family (wife, son and daughter), asst-coaching his son’s baseball team, traveling, riding his motorcycle and attending sporting events.
