D.J. Shipley

Raised in Chesapeake, Virginia, D.J embodies the values of determination, resilience, and leadership that are characteristic of his military hometown. From a young age, he was drawn to the thrill of adventure and the call of duty, ultimately leading him to embark on are markable 17-year journey serving the United States at the highest level as a Navy SEAL Tier 1 operator.

Starting his military career fresh out of high school at the age of 17, His unwavering commitment to excellence propelled him through the ranks of naval special warfare. He proudly served with distinction at SEAL Team10 and the prestigious Naval Special War fare Development Group (Commonly known as SEAL Team 6), Where he honed his skills and demonstrated exceptional dedication to his country.

In 2019, D.J was medically retired due to injuries sustained in combat and rigorous training. Throughout his 17 year career, he exhibited an unyielding sense of duty, leaving a lasting legacy of service and sacrifice.

Beyond his military achievements, D.J cherishes his role as a loving husband, celebrating 15 years of marriage, and is a proud father of two daughters.

Following retirement D.J. co-founded Tribe SK8Z, A lifestyle apparel brand that embodies the spirit of adventure and camaraderie. Soon to follow, GBRS Group, A Tier 1 training and services organization was formed. As the co-founder and Chief Training Officer he continues to inspire and lead with the same unwavering determination that defined his military career.

When he's not immersed in his professional pursuits, he finds solace in exploring his physical and mental limitations and pushing himself to be better than the previous day. Physical conditioning and mental health awareness are two extremely important aspects of his process and something he enjoys sharing with others.
