Andrea Searor.

Women Veterans Coordinator, Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs
Andrea E. Searor serves as the inaugural Women Veterans Coordinator for the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs (ADVA), where she is leading the development of Alabama's Women Veterans Program. In this role, she advocates for women veterans across the state and works to ensure they are informed, connected, and empowered to access the benefits, resources, services, and opportunities they have earned through military service.
Since joining ADVA, Andrea has focused on establishing the foundation and statewide presence of the new program. Her efforts include developing strategic partnerships, engaging women veterans directly through outreach and community events, increasing awareness of available benefits and services, and creating opportunities for women veterans to help shape the program through their own experiences. She also serves at the national level as Junior Vice President of the National Association of State Women Veterans Coordinators.
Prior to joining ADVA, Andrea completed a career in the United States Air Force, enlisting as an Airman in 1998 and retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 2026. Her military career included senior leadership positions in intelligence, international affairs, strategic planning, multinational engagement, and force protection. She led teams and programs in the United States and overseas, deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (Kuwait, Balad, and Baghdad, Iraq), managed multimillion-dollar portfolios, advised senior leaders, and built partnerships across government and international organizations.
Her vision is to develop a sustainable statewide network in which women veterans, regardless of branch, era, deployment history, or length of service, know where to turn for trusted information, resources, benefits, and support.
