MAJ Dustin Harris

MAJ Dustin Harris is in the California Army National Guard. (CAARNG). In the CA ARNG, MAJ serves as the Behavioral Health Officer Operations Officer (Joint) and Chief, Behavioral Health Officer (Army). In his role as a Behavioral Health Officer, he provides direct supervision of the statewide full-time behavioral force and overall oversight of the over 20 traditional behavioral health assets in the state. From 2019 to 2021, he was the Commander of the 297 Area Support Medical Company. He was activated and served as the Medical Task Force Commander for the California National Guard COVID-19 support mission during this time. He has deployed to Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan. 

He has a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Liberty University. He completed his Master of Social Work at the University of Southern California and obtained his California License of Clinical Social Work in 2009. He became a Social Work Board Certified Diplomate in 2013. He was commissioned into the CA ARNG in November 2010. He has over 15 years of social work experience in state mental health, law enforcement, child protective services, and, most recently California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. He has over ten years of experience as an Adjunct Professor and an individual practitioner.
