Professor Moises “Honeybadger” Lopez is a U.S. Air Force veteran and the owner and head instructor of The Academy of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a respected training hub in Las Vegas. One of the most accomplished leg-lock specialists in the sport, he’s a 4x World Champion, 2x Pan Champion, 8x American Nationals Champion, and a 28x IBJJF Gold Medalist.

As a husband, father of two, and lifelong martial artist, Professor Lopez brings deep technical knowledge and a powerful commitment to service through Jiu Jitsu. His academy is known for fostering a community grounded in discipline, resilience, and purpose especially for veterans and first responders.

MCON 2025 marks the second year Professor Lopez and his team have led the Open BJJ Seminar, continuing their mission to connect, inspire, and empower through shared training on the mats.
