William Dorman

William Dorman

William Dorman is a retired Navy Diver Senior Chief with 24 years of service in the U.S. Navy and nearly 20 deployments across some of the world’s most demanding environments. He spent 14 years at Naval Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU), where he supported elite Tier One units as a diver and combatives instructor. His career includes critical missions ranging from hostage rescues and no-fail operations to leading the recovery of the Orion Space Capsule in partnership with NASA. In 2016, he led a 17-diver team in recovering two CH-53 helicopters and the remains of 12 Marines off the coast of Oahu.

William holds a 3rd-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Gustavo Machado and views the art as a transformative path for healing and self-discovery. Post-retirement, he travels globally teaching at BJJ Globetrotter Camps and serves as an advocate for the veteran community through his work with the We Defy Foundation, helping combat-disabled veterans find connection, purpose, and strength through Jiu Jitsu.

He is also the founder of Blue Ring Solutions, a venture focused on building global community through martial arts, wellness, and personal growth. Whether it's through nature-based therapy, gardening, or movement, William believes in the power of simple, intentional practices to support recovery and resilience—especially for veterans.

An adventurer at heart, William has sailed across the Atlantic, jumped from planes at 35,000 feet, and climbed some of the world’s highest peaks. His mission is rooted in the belief that healing begins with connection: "One people, one planet, all connected."
